Public health topics
at the University of Sheffield
The core interest of this group is in improving the health of the public at local, regional, national and international levels, through research informed teaching, our programme of applied research and close involvement with the National Health Service and other health care organisations.
Public Health consists of over 300 multidisciplinary staff, and 450 postgraduate students from more than 50 countries around the world. ScHARR's Public Health is the focus for a large, diverse and internationally recognised programme of health services and public health research, knowledge transfer and research-led teaching.
ScHARR's Public Health research informs the way in which health care should be delivered at both patient and population levels. It studies and evaluates health, healthcare, health services and health policy from the broadest possible range of clinical, economic and social perspectives.
